Ingredients

The Tonic

  • 1 cup warm water (comfortable to sip—never boiling)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 thin slice fresh ginger (optional)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

From the Hive

  • ½ teaspoon Go Honey royal jelly
  • 1 tablespoon Go Honey pure honey

Instructions

1

Warm the Water

Heat your water and then let it sit for a minute or two. You want it warm enough to be comforting but cool enough to sip right away—this matters more than you'd think for the next steps.

2

Add Lemon and Ginger

Squeeze in the lemon juice and drop in the ginger slice if you're using it. Let it steep for 2 minutes so the ginger has time to open up.

3

Stir in the Honey

Add the honey and stir until it fully dissolves. The warm water makes this easy—no clumps, no sinking to the bottom.

4

Add the Royal Jelly Last

Take your half teaspoon of royal jelly and stir it in gently until it disperses. Adding it at the end, into warm rather than hot liquid, keeps its delicate compounds intact. Royal jelly is naturally tangy, so the lemon and honey balance it beautifully.

5

Sip Slowly

Drink it first thing, ideally before breakfast. Dust with cinnamon if you like a little warmth on top.

Pro Tip: Never add royal jelly to boiling water—heat degrades the compounds you're paying for. If you're new to royal jelly, start with ¼ teaspoon for the first week and work up to a full teaspoon as you get used to the tangy, slightly sour taste.
